Driver Licensing Procedures

• To get Business License you will have to:

• Go to City Treasurers Office,
• 1200 Third Avenue at Civic Center Plaza ( 3rd and B )
• Hours: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday through Friday

Fill out application

Pay $46.00* to “CITY TREASURER” Cash and Checks ONLY

• To get Operators Permit,

• Two recent Passport photos ( 2” x 2” only )

• Few different locations around the downtown area.  Try the one by the Bus Station at 1st and Broadway.

• Go to San Diego Transportation Department
• 1010 Second Avenue, Suite 800, East Tower, 8th Floor.
  Hours: 8:00 – 11:30 am  & 1:00 – 3:00 pm Monday through Friday.

• You must show the following documents:

• Proof of age: Must be at least 18 years old

• San Diego Business License

• Two passport photos

• Pay $25.00* by check or cash in exact change

• Present valid Driver’s License (non-resident is acceptable)

• Foreign drivers/riders need J-1 stamp on passport to get business license/pedicab license
